Hakan Fidan, Turkey's Foreign Minister, in controversial statements in Damascus, has accused Israel of trying to jeopardize Syria's stability with its actions. He expressed serious concerns in this regard, stating that Israel continues its attacks against Syria consistently.
Syria's Emphasis on Its Positions
In response to Fidan's statements, Faisal Mekdad, Syria's Foreign Minister, emphasized the need to maintain the independence and territorial integrity of his country and referred to the necessity of a joint strategy to counter external threats. Mekdad said: "We must always be ready to protect Syria and its people."
These statements come at a time when relations between Turkey and Israel have severely deteriorated due to political and military disagreements in the region. In recent years, both countries have faced multiple security challenges, and these tensions are likely to continue in the future.
Challenges Facing Syria
