In a significant and controversial move, the Houthis announced on Saturday that following their recent advances in Yemen, they have succeeded in liberating more than 200 of their members who had been detained by Saudi forces. Abdulqader al-Murtada, one of the Houthi officials, announced this news at a press conference in Yemen's capital, Sana'a, stating: "These individuals are war prisoners who have spent up to eight years in prison."

The Houthis, who previously controlled large parts of northern Yemen as well as populous cities like Sana'a and Al-Hudaydah, have successfully captured new areas on Yemen's western coast and near the Bab al-Mandab Strait through a swift operation. Al-Murtada further added: "We welcomed 210 of our prisoners who have been freed from the enemy's Saudi prisons."
