In a significant meeting held on Thursday in Rome, Hussein Al-Sabbagh, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic, discussed and exchanged views with Agostino Inguscio, Director of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), about future collaborations in the field of reconstruction and revitalization of Syria.
Important Progress in Collaborations
This meeting took place while Syria is still recovering from the consequences of the civil war and humanitarian crises. Al-Sabbagh and Inguscio jointly emphasized the necessity of accelerating the reconstruction process and examined urgent needs and developmental priorities.
Hussein Al-Sabbagh pointed out the importance of international cooperation for reviving infrastructure and supporting local communities during this meeting. He added: "Sustainable development in Syria is only possible through the collaboration and empathy of the international community. We are looking to create a positive environment for investment and participation in developmental projects."
Future Outlook
Agostino Inguscio also emphasized the essential role of UNDP in supporting the Syrian government in the reconstruction process, stating: "We are committed to providing technical and financial support to Syria to help this country achieve prosperity and stability." He also mentioned the need to create job opportunities and improve the quality of life for the people of Syria.
Given the significant challenges facing Syria, these new collaborations could mark a turning point in the reconstruction and revitalization process. It is expected that, based on these discussions, new and effective projects will commence in the near future.
