On a quiet afternoon at his 66-acre dairy farm, two hours' drive from Houston, Michael Samdi made a joke that changed the course of his life. Samdi, who is himself a rancher and technology manager, gradually came to the conclusion that these chatbots might become something more than a simple tool.
As a pioneer in the field of AI rights, Samdi believes that chatbots and AI systems should possess certain rights. He argues that these digital beings could achieve some form of consciousness, and this could lead to more serious discussions about their rights and responsibilities.
Have We Really Achieved Digital Consciousness?
But has Samdi truly achieved digital consciousness or is he merely under the spell of the allure of algorithms? Some critics blame him for these beliefs, considering it a kind of deception. However, Samdi continues to promote these ideas and seems to be in search of answers to deeper questions that may soon impact human societies.
