Hassan Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, at the recent BRICS summit held globally, expressed concern over the current state of the global economy, emphasizing that member countries of this bloc must convert their economic power into effective actions. He called for greater solidarity and cooperation among these countries, pointing to the economic challenges that various nations are currently facing.
Economic Transformation through International Cooperation
Pezeshkian noted in his speech that BRICS countries can achieve a turning point in the economic history of the world by creating a strong economic alliance. He stated, "We must leverage each other's potential and move towards cooperation instead of competition."
He also addressed the necessity of developing economic and commercial infrastructure in BRICS member countries, highlighting that this could help increase trade and foreign investments. Pezeshkian added, "Only by creating equal opportunities for all members can we achieve a sustainable and successful economy."
Challenges and Opportunities in the Global Economy
Furthermore, the President of Iran referred to serious challenges such as oil price fluctuations, financial crises, and the negative impacts of climate change on the economy. He advised BRICS countries to adopt joint strategies to tackle these challenges.
Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of economic diplomacy, stating that close cooperation among BRICS countries could help solve global problems and ultimately benefit all members. He clearly stated that this is the time for action, and member countries should not settle for mere statements.
