Following the collapse of a ٦-story building in the Al-San'aa street area of Gaza, ٩ people were killed and about ١٠٠ are missing. The search and rescue operation continues with many difficulties.

A ٦-story building in the Al-San'aa street area west of Gaza City collapsed suddenly early this morning. This building was a shelter for Palestinian refugees, and as a result of this incident, ٩ people lost their lives and ١٤ others were injured. The situation at the scene is extremely concerning, and it is estimated that about ١٠٠ people are missing under the rubble.

Search and rescue operations under difficult conditions

The Gaza Civil Defense has begun search and rescue operations since early this morning. This operation is being carried out in cooperation with municipal forces, but the conditions at the scene are very complicated due to the collapse of debris and lack of equipment. Officials have stated that despite ongoing efforts, dozens of people are still trapped under the rubble, and the death toll may rise.

Rescue teams are continuously working to find individuals trapped under the rubble. Although by this morning, ٩ of the deceased and ١٤ injured have been rescued, hopes of finding others alive have significantly diminished.

Warnings about the condition of other buildings

The mayor of Gaza has warned about the possibility of other buildings collapsing and emphasized that mobile homes must be operational before the winter season arrives. The risk of other buildings collapsing could threaten the lives of many refugees who are living in very difficult conditions due to the destruction caused by recent conflicts.

The Gaza Civil Defense has also announced that currently about ٦٠ people are injured and missing. Given the dire conditions and lack of resources, necessary actions to address this crisis are urgently needed. This agency has warned of the existence of hundreds of similar buildings in the Gaza Strip that are on the verge of collapse, stating that these buildings pose a continuous threat to the lives of residents and refugees who have been forced to take shelter in damaged buildings or in tents beside them.

The situation in the Gaza Strip has been described as extremely catastrophic, and local officials emphasize that if the international community does not act quickly to rebuild and provide necessary resources, the situation will worsen. This situation could have irreparable consequences for the residents of the area.
