Iskander Momeni, the Iranian Minister of Interior, held an important meeting yesterday with Mustafa Cihangir, the Turkish Minister of Interior, in Ankara to discuss and exchange views on the security issues of the two countries. This meeting, which took place at the Turkish Ministry of Interior, focused on key topics such as combating terrorism and border security.
Emphasis on Dissolution of Terrorist Groups
Mustafa Cihangir, in this meeting, highlighted the necessity of including the branches of PKK in Syria and Iraq as well as the terrorist group PJAK in Iran in the dissolution process, stressing the importance of bilateral cooperation in this regard. He stated: "We are strengthening our long-standing and deep-rooted neighborhood through joint security actions." These remarks reflect the determination of both countries to combat common security threats.

Review of Joint Security Actions
Cihangir further referred to other issues such as illegal immigration and drug trafficking, saying: "In this bilateral meeting, we assessed security risks and the joint actions that can be taken to address them." The Turkish Minister of Interior also noted that the development process of a "terrorism-free Turkey," which is being implemented under the leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Turkey, was reviewed.
Cihangir also emphasized the importance of completing the dissolution process of all branches and extensions of this organization under various names, stating that to achieve peace and security in the region, we must work closer together towards this goal. He asserted: "We will continue to confront transnational threats decisively in solidarity and coordination with our neighbors and will take steps towards peace, stability, and security in the region."
In conclusion, the Turkish Minister of Interior thanked Iskander Momeni and his accompanying delegation for their visit to Turkey and expressed hope for continued security cooperation between the two countries.
