The artillery and air strikes by the Israeli army on various areas of southern Lebanon have created loud explosions in the settlements of the region.

The artillery and air strikes by the Israeli regime's army on various areas of southern Lebanon intensified on Wednesday evening, November 23, 2023, leading to severe explosions in the settlements of Kfar Tebnit and Al-Mansouri. These attacks, which were particularly concentrated in the Tyre district, caused significant tremors in the neighboring villages.

Israeli Army's Offensive Tactics

During these attacks, an Israeli Merkava tank targeted the settlement of Kfar Tebnit with several shells. Additionally, the regime's artillery heavily bombarded the settlements of Majdel Zoun and Al-Mansouri. Following these attacks, loud explosions were heard from the settlement of Al-Mansouri, resulting in ground shaking in the surrounding areas.

Moreover, reports indicate that the Israeli army conducted another explosive operation in the Wadi Mazlum area in Beit Lif, on the outskirts of Bint Jbeil, and undertook heavy weapon clean-up operations on the outskirts of the settlement of Hadatha. These attacks intensified particularly in the late hours of the night, and Israeli fighter jets also attacked the settlement of Al-Mansouri in two phases.

Humanitarian and Security Consequences

According to published information, a loud explosion was also heard in the Nabatieh region, resulting from the Israeli regime's explosive operations in Eastern Zawtar. This explosion occurred in three phases, and as a result, residents of the surrounding areas were put on alert.

The Israeli army has also bombarded the settlement of Al-Qantara, and these attacks have yet to face international and local reactions. So far, no reports have been published regarding the extent of damages and potential casualties from these attacks. While the Israeli regime has launched extensive attacks against Lebanon since March 2, 2024 (February 11, 404), this has led to the displacement and homelessness of over one million Lebanese citizens.

Meanwhile, the framework agreement signed last month between Lebanon and the Israeli regime, mediated by the United States, has been presented as an effort to end the war between the two parties. However, this agreement has faced criticisms. Critics point to the lack of clarity regarding the legal status of the agreement and the absence of a specific timeline for the withdrawal of Israeli forces.
