Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, met this morning, Wednesday, in Beijing with Wang Yi, the Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the ruling party and the Foreign Minister of China. In this meeting, Araghchi emphasized his principles and the struggle for the rights of the Iranian people, calling for the restoration of calm in the region and friendly relations with neighbors.
Historical and Strategic Relations between Iran and China
Araghchi described China as a close friend and strategic partner of Iran and emphasized the serious will of the Islamic Republic of Iran to enhance comprehensive relations between Tehran and Beijing. He stated that the relations between the two countries are guided at a strategic level by the will of the leaders of both sides and the existing political trust, and Tehran is particularly keen on strengthening relations in various fields.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also attributed the root of the current conditions in the region to the military aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime, emphasizing that the struggle and resistance of the Iranian people have thwarted the aggressors' goals. He praised China's principled position in condemning the violation of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter by the U.S. and Israel.
Readiness for Diplomacy and Dialogue
Araghchi also referred to Iran's readiness to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity and welcomed diplomatic solutions that would secure the rights of the Iranian people. He stated: "The conditions in the region have fundamentally changed after the aggressive war against Iran, and in the new regional order, which will be accompanied by dialogue and cooperation among regional countries, there is no place for the presence and interference of foreign forces."
The Chinese Foreign Minister also described the relations between Tehran and Beijing as based on an important comprehensive strategic partnership and announced Beijing's willingness to develop and strengthen relations. Wang Yi, calling the U.S. war against Iran illegal, emphasized the necessity of establishing peace and calm in the Middle East and reiterated China's readiness to play a role in reducing tensions and supporting dialogue and establishing peace and stability in the region.
