Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, stated that the overthrow of the Islamic Republic regime is Israel's main goal during a ceremony honoring the staff of the Shin Bet organization. He emphasized that Israel will continue its operations against Hamas and Hezbollah.

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, made controversial remarks about the Islamic Republic of Iran on Thursday, September 26, at the residence of the President of Israel in the presence of Isaac Herzog, the President of the country. At this ceremony, held to honor the outstanding staff of Israel's internal security agency, Shin Bet, Netanyahu reiterated the overthrow of the Islamic Republic government as one of Israel's main objectives.

Overthrowing the Iranian Regime as a Priority

Netanyahu said at the ceremony: "First and foremost, we will defeat the Iranian regime. We will overthrow it. It will fall." He pointed out that the Islamic Republic's desire and that of its proxy forces to destroy Israel has not disappeared, but according to him, this desire has "weakened." The Prime Minister of Israel added: "Their ability to achieve this goal has been severely damaged, and we have done most of the work."

Continuing Operations Against Hamas and Hezbollah

Netanyahu also referred to the situation in Gaza and stated that Israel will continue its operations against Hamas members. He emphasized that the notion that Hamas forces are safe in their controlled areas is incorrect, and Israel will continue targeting individuals linked to the October 7 attack.

These remarks come as Israel's operations against Hamas have continued during the Gaza ceasefire and have become a point of contention with the U.S.-backed "Peace Delegation." Netanyahu also noted that operations against Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Islamic Republic are part of a broader and interconnected confrontation.

Netanyahu's recent statements regarding regime change in Iran are somewhat a continuation of his positions from two weeks ago, in which he referred to the overthrow of the Islamic Republic as Israel's "main mission" remaining. At that time, he also stated that the Iranian government is weaker than before and is struggling for its survival. These positions reflect Israel's firm determination to continue pressure on the Islamic Republic and its proxy groups in the region.
