Turkey's role in the region
Erdogan continued by referencing recent developments in the Strait of Hormuz, stating: "It is not just what happens in the Strait of Hormuz; you see that there are serious problems in many parts of the Gulf as well. Where are the areas where these problems have become bottlenecks? The Islamic world. Turkey is now emphasizing its role in the region, and it will continue to do so." He highlighted the high expectations from Turkey, referring to defense agreements with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, stating: "The aim of this step was for these three countries to come together and, God willing, with this action, send a message from here to the Islamic world."
Military gifts to NATO leaders
In response to a student question about welcoming NATO leaders, Erdogan clarified: "We entered the field with products from the Machinery and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) and gifted these weapons to all the leaders who came. Why? Because we are Turkey. We wanted to present our works to them as gifts." He noted the positive reception of the leaders regarding these gifts, saying: "The leaders were pleased that we provided this joy for them."
In conclusion, Erdogan emphasized the importance of Turkey's efforts to strengthen relations with allied countries, stating: "There are good developments, and we will also achieve this." Erdogan's remarks reflect Turkey's determination to play a more active role in regional and global issues.
