Israeli Military Action in Gaza: Forced Evacuations of Neighborhoods and Humanitarian Crisis Continue

Oum Siraj Al-Mouzeini was preparing soup for her sick child when suddenly she heard a commotion outside her tent in western Gaza. People were running and shouting: "How much time do we have?"

It was a familiar and alarming sound. She quietly prayed that she was mistaken. One of her displaced neighbors informed her: "An evacuation order has been issued for the entire block." She gathered her belongings and prepared to flee with her children.

Forced Evacuations in Gaza

Mouzeini, originally from the Shuja'iyya neighborhood in eastern Gaza, said: "I ran with my son towards an unknown destination. I didn’t know where to go. I wasn’t prepared for this situation, especially since the last evacuation order in my area was issued before the ceasefire."

She and her son went to another neighborhood and waited there for the threatened area to be bombed. Just a few minutes after the evacuation order was issued, an Israeli fighter jet bombed a building in that neighborhood.

The forced evacuation of the Al-Abbas block in western Gaza on September 8 is part of a series of eviction orders issued in recent weeks by Israeli military forces across the Gaza Strip.

Continued Crimes and Violation of Ceasefire

Residents say these crimes continue, although media attention has decreased. A total of 1,381 Palestinians have been killed in ongoing Israeli attacks since the ceasefire, with the number of injured reaching 4,757.

Ahmed Jundia, a resident of Gaza, said: "Two other aspects of the crime continue: incursions and forced evacuations, and the hunger that torments us every day." He, who lost his home in the first year of the crime, now lives in a tent with his family next to the ruins of it.

Jundia said: "Every night we feel that war has returned. Israeli occupying forces are heavily firing towards our areas, and we barely survive the bullets."

He added: "These days, discussions have turned to whether we still have a place to go and when we should decide to leave."
