The leaders of the Amal Movement and Hezbollah, including Sheikh Ali Damoush and Dr. Mustafa Fawani, held an important meeting yesterday in Beirut. This meeting was arranged in the early morning hours at the Hezbollah office and included discussions on the latest political, social, and economic developments in Lebanon. During this session, the leaders of the two movements analyzed the current sensitive conditions in Lebanon and the challenges ahead.
The Necessity of National Partnership and Civil Peace
The leaders of the two movements emphasized the importance of national partnership and common coexistence, introducing it as a fundamental basis for the protection of Lebanon. According to them, any political approach based on exclusion, elimination, or domination must be rejected. They also called for maintaining differences and grievances within a political and legal framework that secures the interests of all Lebanese and protects the government and its institutions.

Emphasis on Government Responsibilities
The leaders of the Amal Movement and Hezbollah also stated that civil peace is a red line and a national and shared responsibility. They emphasized that contentious issues should be addressed through dialogue and understanding, avoiding provocation and incitement. In a statement issued after this meeting, the necessity for the government to fully assume its responsibilities was highlighted. Activating government institutions and agencies and serious efforts to resolve economic, social, and livelihood crises were other issues raised in this session.
The leaders of the two movements also stressed the need for reconstruction and compensation for the victims and stated that these matters should be prioritized. They called for mobilizing official and popular resources and activating the role of the government in this regard. They also referred to Arab and international support that could help stabilize people in their land and restore life to affected areas.
Call for National Responsibility
The leaders of the Amal Movement and Hezbollah urged all political forces to address the current conditions in Lebanon with national responsibility and to avoid divisions and approaches that increase fragmentation. They emphasized that Lebanon needs understanding, constructive work, and synergy more than ever. In this context, they stressed the necessity of political will and inclusiveness to overcome the current phase and pointed out the need to transition from crisis management to addressing their root causes.
In conclusion, the leaders of the two movements emphasized that the reconstruction of Lebanon and ensuring the return of residents to their villages and towns is a national priority and a responsibility that requires urgency in its execution. They called for opening the way for a new phase to protect Lebanon and establish its government and institutions.
