Mohammad Saleh, coordinator of the NGO Network in Gaza, reported that 2.3 million Palestinians live in only 30 percent of the Gaza Strip. This situation has forced families to set up tents on sidewalks and streets.

Mohammad Saleh, coordinator of the NGO Network in Gaza, announced that approximately 2.3 million Palestinians are concentrated in an area equivalent to only 30 percent of the total Gaza Strip. This critical situation has led thousands of families to set up their tents on sidewalks, streets, and near sewage.

Living in Adverse Conditions

Saleh explained to reporters that more than two million people live in very limited and unsuitable spaces. He added that thousands have been forced to reside in dilapidated and unsafe buildings due to a severe shortage of tents and temporary housing. This situation has jeopardized the lives of many families, and the number of displaced persons increases day by day.

Shortage of Facilities and Support

According to this Palestinian official, there is no practical plan to cope with the winter season or to provide prefabricated houses and trailers for the displaced. Currently, the amount of supplies allowed to enter through the crossings is severely insufficient and does not match the catastrophic needs in the Gaza Strip.

Saleh also warned that as a result of the repeated attacks by the Zionist regime on residential areas, almost every day more than 100 families become displaced. Many of these families have lost their homes and are searching for a safe place to settle without any results.

This situation has not only created livelihood problems for the people of Gaza but has also affected their mental and social health. In these difficult circumstances, the necessity for international and humanitarian support to assist the people of Gaza is felt more than ever.
