The Friday Imam of Paveh, Hojjatoleslam Abdollah Hosseini, reacted to the recent threats of Joe Biden, the President of the United States, against Iran during this week's Friday prayer sermon held at the Paveh Grand Mosque, and strongly condemned these threats. He pointed to the historical background of religious wars in the region and warned that the likelihood of a religious war between Shia and Sunni is increasing.
Threats of the President of the United States
Hosseini stated in his sermon: "The recent threats from America against Iran indicate the dangerous plans of this country to create division among Muslims. We must maintain our vigilance and prevent any conspiracy that may affect the unity of Muslims." He added that America has historically sought to create war and insecurity in Islamic countries, stating: "This time, too, it has acted with the aim of sowing discord."

Call for Vigilance and Unity
The Friday Imam of Paveh also called on Muslims and leaders of Islamic countries to stand against foreign conspiracies with vigilance and unity. He emphasized: "Islamic communities must pay more attention to unity and brotherhood than ever before and neutralize threats. It is time for Muslims to come closer to each other and avoid differences."
He further pointed out the importance of the cohesion of Muslims against common enemies, saying: "The enemies of Islam know well that if Muslims unite, no power will be able to confront them. Therefore, we must strive with all our might to maintain unity and not allow the enemies' conspiracies to succeed."
Consequences of Religious War
Hosseini concluded by emphasizing that a religious war could have irreparable consequences for the region, expressing hope that Muslims, with a correct understanding of the situation, would prevent any religious conflict. He called for more efforts from the leaders of Islamic countries to maintain security and peace in the region, stating: "We cannot allow history to repeat itself and innocent people to become victims of political interests."
