In a deadly incident at a school in the city of Bangga, Philippines, three people, including a 16-year-old suspect, lost their lives.

In a heartbreaking incident that occurred on Friday in the city of Bangga in the province of South Cotabato, located in southern Philippines, at least three people were killed and several others were injured. This incident marks the third deadly shooting at schools in the country since June.

Details of the Incident

According to initial reports, two of the deceased were students, and several others are currently receiving treatment in the hospital. Four of the eight injured are in critical condition, and all victims were aged between 14 and 17 years. Local authorities confirmed that the 16-year-old suspect shot himself after the attack.

Reactions from Officials and Security Situation

Reynaldo Tamayo, the governor of South Cotabato province, stated in a statement that the suspect died from his injuries. However, the exact number of attackers is still unclear. In a video that was shared on social media, one of the teachers admits that there were two shooters present, and one of the students also mentioned that they were from outside the school.

Tamayo further added: "We are currently trying to inform our fellow citizens that the situation is stable and the matter is under control. We never imagined this would happen." This incident occurred following nationwide shooting drills aimed at enhancing security in schools.

This deadly shooting has heightened concerns about school security in the Philippines. In recent months, two other shooting incidents have also occurred in schools in the country, leading to increased security measures in educational institutions. Local authorities have announced that a more comprehensive investigation is underway to examine these incidents in greater detail.
