The Trump administration has seized Venezuela's oil resources for its own benefit through a controversial deal. Is this action not only beneficial for the U.S. but detrimental to the people?

In today's world, imperialism has taken on a modern form and no longer requires a flag or a governor. It is enough for a powerful country to take control of a weaker country's fate and seize its resources for its own benefit. The Trump administration, in an unprecedented move, showcased a remarkable example of 19th-century-style modern diplomacy by kidnapping Nicolás Maduro, the President of Venezuela, and installing Delcy Rodríguez, his vice president, as the new president.

Theft of Resources in the Name of National Interests

This deal, which led to voting and the overthrow of a regime, resulted in the surrender of one-fifth of Venezuela's known oil reserves to the U.S. Trump boasts about this action as the "largest oil deal in history," but in reality, it will not benefit the American people. While Venezuela's oil production is expected to increase in the future, this increase will not soon lead to lower prices.

The key point is that this deal will not help reduce fuel prices for Americans before the midterm elections. As many people struggle with energy costs, it seems unlikely that the unknown wealth of the Orinoco Belt will come to the aid of Republican candidates.

Is Trump in a Delusion of Power?

Trump appears to be in a delusion of power, viewing actions like these as his great victories. However, the reality is that these actions are not only not beneficial for the American people, but they could also exacerbate crises in Venezuela. In the meantime, the effort to secure national interests in the guise of resource theft raises fundamental questions about ethics and humanity.

Do these actions by Trump indicate a long-term strategy for controlling global resources, or are they merely a display of power to justify domestic policies? These questions remain as the world watches these developments.
