A new debate over controlling the development of artificial intelligence (AI) has begun in the United States. This discussion was sparked by an article from Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, in which he called for slowing down the development of AI systems and implementing greater oversight of the industry.
Trump's Response to Regulatory Demands
In response to these requests, Donald Trump, in a message on his social media platform, referred to the existence of "massive criminal and regulatory powers" in the United States over AI companies, framing safety concerns as a conspiracy that only benefits China. He also emphasized that whoever wins the AI competition will achieve a complete victory.

Rapid Development of the AI Industry
While states are trying to regulate this developing industry, major companies operating in this field have come under particular scrutiny. The 10 largest public companies in the AI sector, with a combined market value of at least $25 trillion, are larger than the GDP of any country except the United States and even exceed the entire economy of China.
These companies are divided into three main categories: companies that manufacture the physical chips on which AI runs, companies that provide the necessary processing and storage power, and companies that develop AI products for public and commercial use.
For example, Nvidia, as the largest public company focused on AI, with a market value of about $5.1 trillion, designs graphics processing units (GPUs) and AI accelerators. Apple, with a market capitalization of $4.86 trillion and investments in AI features for devices, is also in this competition.
Alongside these companies, several private firms are growing with valuations in the billions. Anthropic, valued at around $965 billion, is preparing for an initial public offering and is expected to enter the market in the coming months.
