Details of Pérez's trip to Ceuta
Pérez, along with José Martínez Piri, honorary president of Real Madrid and a native of Ceuta, was welcomed by Juan Jesús Vivas, the regional president of Ceuta. In his speech in the city of Ceuta, Pérez said: "I want to emphasize that this event was planned weeks ago with the president of Ceuta and has no connection to recent news." He also urged all the people of Ceuta to feel support and empathy during these difficult times.

Real Madrid's response to recent events
This trip comes as on Tuesday, before Real Madrid's La Liga match against Elche, Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, and Ibrahima Konaté wore a message that was written on the T-shirts of other players. The message was "We are all Sardinians," which is known as a nickname for the people of Ceuta, and these T-shirts were designed to show support for these people. Mbappé stated on Wednesday that he does not want to prioritize the suffering of one group over another.
Real Madrid has announced to the media that it respects the freedom of decision-making of its players but reminded that a week ago, in the UEFA Champions League match against Inter Milan, it had displayed its support for Ceuta with a tifos.
In July, over 70,000 illegal entries into Ceuta from Morocco occurred, causing disruptions in this land. Showing solidarity from Real Madrid is one of many actions taken across Spain following these mass entries.
