Hamid Shahriari emphasized the importance of Iran's independence and capability as a model for Islamic countries at the grand conference commemorating Sheikh Syed Yahya Baku'i.

Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, elaborated on the role and position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the current global conditions at the international conference commemorating Sheikh Syed Yahya Baku'i held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

Iran as a Model

Referring to the recent imposed war against Iran, he described this event as a test for assessing the independence and capability of the Islamic Republic and stated: "A powerful Iran can serve as a model for Islamic countries and oppressed nations to rely on internal capacities and trust in Almighty God instead of depending on foreign powers."

Hamid Shahriari emphasized that the enemies' efforts to weaken Iran have not succeeded, and the Iranian nation has stood firm against these pressures by maintaining internal cohesion and solidarity among military forces in the field and the diplomatic activities of officials.

Emphasis on Islamic Unity

The Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought stressed the importance of the independence of regional countries and said: "Islamic countries must rely more than ever on regional capacities to ensure their security and not allow regional security to become a tool for serving the interests of foreign powers."

He also referred to the increasing relations among regional countries, viewing it as a sign of strengthening cooperation and solidarity in the Islamic world. Shahriari added: "Today, more than ever, the necessity of Islamic unity has become evident in practice, and regional countries must come to the conclusion that sustainable security can only be achieved through cooperation among themselves."

Human Rights Violations and the Palestinian Issue

Hamid Shahriari criticized the West's double standards regarding war and human rights, emphasizing the necessity of unity and cooperation among Islamic countries and stating: "Iran's experience has shown that regional security can only be achieved by relying on internal capacities and cooperation among regional countries."

He also pointed to the widespread human rights violations against the Palestinian people and stated: "The Islamic world has been facing the issue of the occupation of Palestine and the displacement of its people for more than seven decades, and the support of Western powers for the Zionist regime has perpetuated this situation."

Hamid Shahriari concluded by calling for the unity of Islamic countries, the free people of the world, and international organizations to practically support the Palestinian people and emphasized that the Palestinian issue must be prioritized.
