Impact of War and Humanitarian Crisis in Yemen
Recent developments in Yemen, with the capture of the port of Mocha by the Houthis and the advances of this group along the western coasts of Yemen, have raised increasing concerns for Israel. Additionally, the Houthis' progress in capturing the island of Meyun in Bab al-Mandab indicates strategic developments in the region.
As the conflicts continue, reports indicate that around 86,000 people in Yemen have been displaced due to recent fighting, and with the rising number of refugees, over 500 people have also lost their lives in these conflicts. The Houthis have also announced that they have carried out missile and drone attacks on Saudi military bases, and these actions are fueling increasing tensions in relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
At the same time, experts believe that simultaneous pressure on Saudi Arabia from Iran, the Houthis, and militia groups in Iraq could pave the way for quiet security cooperation between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
