Heavy U.S. Losses in Iran Attacks Include Loss of 30 Drones

According to a report released on Monday, the U.S. has suffered heavy losses in the recent war with Iran. This report, prepared by inspectors from the U.S. Department of Defense, confirms that between February 28 and June 30, dozens of aircraft, including at least 30 MQ-9 Reaper drones, and hundreds of other buildings and facilities have been damaged or destroyed.

Details of Human and Financial Losses

The report also mentions human losses, stating that at least 11 U.S. military personnel were killed in the conflicts, and seven others lost their lives in civilian incidents. Among these casualties, six were in the port of Shuwaikh, Kuwait on March 1, one in Saudi Arabia on the same day, and several others at military bases in Jordan and Iraq.

According to this report, at least 417 U.S. military personnel have been injured in the Iranian attacks by June 30. These losses include various types of aircraft, including fighter jets, refueling planes, and reconnaissance drones.

Damage to Diplomatic and Military Facilities

The report further highlights the damage to U.S. diplomatic facilities in four countries: Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The estimated damage to these facilities amounts to over $184 million. Additionally, the costs of delays in construction projects due to travel restrictions amount to about $24.5 million per month.

Moreover, the U.S. consulate in Erbil and the embassy in Baghdad have also been affected by these attacks, resulting in damage to several buildings. On March 5, the U.S. embassy in Kuwait was suspended due to regional tensions, which also incurred a cost of approximately $14.75 million.

The Pentagon's report also addresses the challenges it faces in supply chain and logistics, discussing the difficulties in establishing naval bases and support ports during this war. These challenges stem from the complexities and uncertainties in obtaining host country permissions to use ports for fleet resupply.

Finally, the report references claims from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) that Iranian attacks have led to widespread damage and destruction at U.S. military facilities in various countries, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, and Jordan.
