Masoud Pezeshkian, our President, explicitly stated in an interview yesterday on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in India that Iran has never sought nuclear weapons and that these accusations are merely an excuse to justify America's aggressions against Iran.
Risks of American Military Bases
Pezeshkian identified the United States as the main factor of insecurity in the region and emphasized that Iran has never initiated a war. He pointed out that the main problem lies with American military bases in countries like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, and China. He said: "We currently have good relations with the UAE and can develop it, but we have issues with the American military bases that are used to aggress against our country."

Pezeshkian also stated: "America takes the oil and minerals of this region and in return gives weapons and military equipment to countries to pit us against each other. We can cooperate with neighboring countries ourselves and establish peace and security in the region."
Cooperation Proposals at BRICS
The President further highlighted the importance of economic cooperation within the framework of BRICS, stating: "We are striving to improve economic relations with member countries, and the new BRICS bank can assist in joint investments and support investors."
He also noted that the region's dependence on the American economy must be reduced, and it will take time to achieve economic independence. Pezeshkian said: "We must interact comfortably with each other, and each country must operate independently of dependencies."
Pezeshkian continued by referring to America's efforts to restrict trade and the entry of goods into Iran, describing these actions as brutal and inhumane. He stated: "America wants to close the avenues for goods, medicine, food, and trade, and it pressures our people to force us into submission."
In conclusion, the President emphasized: "We have repeatedly engaged in discussions for an end to the war and a ceasefire and are seeking peace, but America is not committed to these negotiations and only beats the drum of war."
