Mustafa Cihangir: The dissolution of PKK branches in Syria, Iraq, and PJAK in Iran is essential

Mustafa Cihangir, the Turkish Interior Minister, in an important meeting with Eskandar Momeni, the Iranian Interior Minister, in Ankara, emphasized the need for the dissolution of PKK branches in Syria and Iraq and PJAK in Iran. This meeting took place at 10 AM and discussed topics such as border security, counter-terrorism, and security cooperation between the two countries.

Discussion on common security issues

Cihangir pointed out the importance of joint cooperation in this meeting and said: "The two countries must take more actions to counter cross-border threats." He also added that issues such as illegal immigration and drug trafficking were also raised in these discussions. These issues are among the main security challenges at the borders of Iran and Turkey.

The necessity of dissolving terrorist groups

The Turkish Interior Minister further pointed to the security risks posed by the existence of terrorist groups and said: "Iran and Turkey emphasized the necessity of completing the process of dissolving all branches and extensions of the PKK organization under various names." According to Cihangir, these groups pose a serious threat to peace and security in the region and must cease their activities as soon as possible.

Cihangir also referred to the implementation of the "Turkey free from terrorism" plan, which is pursued under the leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Turkey. He added that this plan is aimed at ensuring Turkey's national and regional security and requires close cooperation with Iran.
