Riyadh Seeks Dialogue with Ansar Allah for Ceasefire in Yemen

In recent days, Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with American, Egyptian, Pakistani, and Omani countries, has established contacts that have led to a proposal for dialogue with the Ansar Allah movement (Houthis). This proposal includes a two-week ceasefire and direct negotiations between the two parties to address humanitarian demands and reach a comprehensive agreement after the ceasefire.

Saudi Arabia's Readiness to Lift the Siege on Yemen

According to obtained information, Saudi Arabia has announced its readiness to lift the siege on Yemen and allow aid to enter the country. However, it seems that Ansar Allah has not welcomed this proposal and believes that this conflict is a Yemeni-Saudi battle that does not relate to Yemen's internal affairs. The Ansar Allah movement is seeking a final and comprehensive solution to this conflict.

Informed sources have announced that the demands of Ansar Allah include ending the siege in all forms—air, land, and sea—as well as the complete military, security, and political withdrawal of Saudi Arabia from Yemen. Ansar Allah has also called for the establishment of a fund to compensate for the financial damages caused by Saudi aggression against Yemen's infrastructure.

Military and Political Consequences

Reports indicate that Ansar Allah had previously informed the Omani mediator that Saudi Arabia's proposal to support Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue is unacceptable, as it constitutes interference in internal affairs. Received information suggests that Saudi Arabia has sought dialogue with Ansar Allah due to the shock experienced after the fall of areas in the western coast and the Bab al-Mandab Strait to Ansar Allah.

Meanwhile, Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince, is facing a difficult reality. During his visit to Egypt, he became aware of Yemen's historical situation and heeded the advice of Egyptian officials to engage in dialogue with Ansar Allah. Additionally, reports have emerged regarding the U.S. government's willingness to negotiate with Ansar Allah to prevent threats to maritime transport in the Red Sea.

While negotiations continue, Ansar Allah has stated that it has no intention of jeopardizing navigation in the Red Sea and that no commercial or oil tanker belonging to Saudi Arabia will be allowed to pass along Yemen's coastline until Saudi Arabia officially lifts the siege on Yemen.

In the meantime, contacts between Omani officials and Mohammed Abdulsalam, the spokesperson and head of the Ansar Allah negotiating team, continue, and these negotiations may lead to understandings in the near future. However, despite diplomatic efforts, Ansar Allah's stance regarding the continuation of Saudi airstrikes is very firm, and the movement has stated that it will respond harshly to these attacks.
