The Secretary General of the World Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought Emphasized Islamic Unity

The Secretary General of the World Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, at a press conference held on October 7, 2023, in Tehran, emphasized the necessity of unity among Islamic countries to confront regional crises. This meeting took place at the assembly's location and was attended by representatives of the media and scientific and religious figures.

Criticism of the West's Double Standards

At this meeting, the Secretary General of the World Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought criticized the West's double standards regarding war and human rights, stating: "The reality is that the Western world has always adopted two different approaches when facing humanitarian issues and global crises. On one hand, they claim to support human rights, and on the other hand, in regional crises, they act in favor of their own interests. This approach not only increases tensions in the region but also jeopardizes sustainable security."

The Necessity of Cooperation Among Islamic Countries

The Secretary General of the World Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought further added: "Sustainable security in the region depends on the unity and cooperation of Islamic countries. If Islamic countries cannot unite against common challenges and only think of their short-term interests, they will certainly be vulnerable to greater threats." In this regard, he pointed to the necessity of creating a united Islamic front to confront existing challenges and crises, adding: "We must cooperate with each other and utilize each other's experiences to stand against global challenges."

This meeting was held while global and regional crises continue, and there is a felt need for greater unity and solidarity among Islamic countries. The Secretary General of the World Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought also emphasized the importance of diplomacy and international dialogues to resolve crises, stating: "Only through dialogue can we achieve sustainable solutions to existing crises, and we must make every effort to realize this."

At the end of this meeting, the Secretary General of the World Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought invited Islamic countries to expand their cooperation in various fields, especially security, economy, and culture, by forming working groups and joint institutions. This action can help strengthen relations among Islamic countries and create a united front against global challenges.
