The helicopter, known as NewsChopper4, crashed around 3 PM local time. The incident occurred between two commercial buildings in the Chatsworth area, and the helicopter's warning sound can be clearly heard in the live broadcast. This sound is heard before the helicopter begins to descend, and then the live broadcast suddenly cuts off.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the helicopter crashed into a parking lot, damaging several parked vehicles. In total, four cars and two storage containers were damaged, but the fire did not spread to nearby buildings.
