Destruction of Hezbollah Rocket Launch Pads and Tunnels by the Israeli Army in Southern Lebanon

On Tuesday, the Israeli army announced the destruction of rocket launch pads and a tunnel related to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, stating that this operation was aimed at preserving its security and preventing threats. This comes as Nawaf Salam, the President of Lebanon, reported the country's urgent need for international financial support to rebuild the affected areas.

Destruction of Military Sites in Southern Lebanon

According to reports, the Israeli army identified and destroyed 32 rockets that were targeted at Israel, as well as a Hezbollah tunnel in an area previously known as a "security zone." This action took place while a ceasefire agreement has not yet been fully implemented.

Need for International Support for Reconstruction

Nawaf Salam emphasized in a public session in the Lebanese Parliament that the extent of damages caused by the war and crises exceeds the financial capacity of the Lebanese government, and that real reconstruction of the country requires financial support and international cooperation. He stated that the costs resulting from the recent war are estimated to reach around $14 billion, including material and economic damages.

Salam also stressed the necessity of financial discipline and the implementation of structural reforms, saying: "To achieve sustainable reconstruction, trust between the government and the people must be established. This trust requires an efficient government that can manage financial conditions."

Political and Diplomatic Developments in Lebanon-Israel Negotiations

Meanwhile, Michel Aoun, the U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon, recently visited the village of Zawtar al-Gharbi, which has recently come under the control of the Lebanese army. This visit occurred amid challenges facing negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, with a new round of talks being postponed.

While Israel continues its attacks, diplomatic efforts to facilitate negotiations and implement agreements between the two countries are ongoing. The President of Lebanon emphasized that his country currently has no new negotiations with Israel and considers the return of Israeli forces and support for the reconstruction of the country as priorities.
